Commissioner
Dave McMillen has always been driven by a deep sense of commitment to Wayne County and its people. A lifelong resident of the county, he has made it his mission to serve his community with dedication and care. He serves in the position of county commissioner, his vision is clear: to lead with love for Wayne County first and foremost.
McMillen's pledge is firm: he will bring a hands-on, common-sense approach to the role, ensuring that every decision is made with the best interests of the people, the communities, and the organizations of Wayne County in mind.
"I care about our communities from Shreve to Doylestown, and West Salem to Mount Eaton," McMillen remarked, showing his deep understanding of the county's diverse needs. He vows to lead with fairness and level-headedness, committed to a future where teamwork and collaboration help the county thrive.
McMillen's leadership is not new to the county. For the past decade, he has served as a Plain Township Trustee, where he demonstrated his ability to tackle important issues with fiscal responsibility. One of his key achievements includes his role in the development of the Rover Pipeline and the compressor station, as well as overseeing the construction of a new fire station for the township. These projects, among others, highlight McMillen's knack for leadership and his dedication to improving his community.
His journey into leadership began long before his tenure as trustee. McMillen traces his path back to his high school years when he became involved in Buckeye Boys State, where he first discovered his passion for public service. With a master's degree in workforce and career technology, McMillen has spent 11 years teaching building trades at West Holmes High School, where he has not only shared his expertise but also nurtured the next generation of skilled professionals. His dedication to education has earned him an honorary state degree from FFA for his work with West Holmes FFA.
Beyond his career, McMillen's family is a pillar of his commitment to Wayne County. He and his wife, Diana, an educational leader, have been married for 21 years and have three daughters. Together, the McMillens have worked tirelessly to foster connections between students, parents, and the community. Their three daughters, seventh-generation heirs of the family farm, carry on the legacy of a family deeply rooted in the values of hard work and service to others.
As he looks to the future, McMillen is steadfast in his desire to continue building a stronger, more connected Wayne County. His blend of experience, education, and a heartfelt dedication to his community makes him a candidate ready to lead with integrity and a focus on shared progress.
The Wayne County Republican Party is here to support the conservative citizens of our county as they fight alongside their elected officials to work towards a brighter and more secure future for all of Wayne County and all of America.
